Founded by Dan "Doc" Abell in 1984, Abell Audio is dedicated to its mission of servicing and repairing professional audio equipment, electronic musical instruments, and audiophile stereo equipment. Conveniently located on King Avenue in Columbus, Ohio, Abell Audio has five complete test and repair benches equipped to troubleshoot and repair your equipment. Approximately 3,000 repairs are conducted annually.

Dan "Doc" Abell, Senior Adviser
Dan has been fascinated by music and electronics from a very early age, learning to build guitar amps before finishing high school. Early in his career, Dan worked as a tech in Columbus before becoming a touring audio engineer for The Godz, Blue Oyster Cult, and others.
Dan continued his hands-on training for the next 8-10 years, learning to build sound systems and repair broken components. In 1984, Dan founded Abell Audio, and a legend was born!
Cole Taylor, Keyboard and Tape Recorder Specialist
Cole, an accomplished jazz musician, began playing at the age of 9. While pursuing a technical certification, Cole discovered a talent for repairing his friends' effects pedals and other electronics. Capitalizing on his acquired knowledge, Cole created a boutique pedal line, Dead Blow Pedals, while expanding his repair abilities to vintage and tube electronics as well as keyboards and synths. Cole continues to build on his expertise and has grown his portfolio of repairs to include analog recording equipment. Cole continues to play and record music. He enjoys time hiking with his dog, Cooper.
Matt Duckworth, Tube Specialist
Matt attended the Columbus College of Art and Design to study the visual arts. Matt's artistic sense and musical background are put to good use while repairing tube amplifiers. Matt not only repairs the amplifier; he restores the unique musicality of the instrument as well. Matt started repairing his own equipment, and has been with Abell Audio as a service technician for over 20 years. Matt still plays music and enjoys the outdoors. He continues to pursue the visual arts in his free time as well.
Allen Thayer, Speaker Repair
Allen comes to Abell Audio after a 40 year career in the automotive aftermarket industry. Allen used this background to join Abell's growing speaker repair area as well as work the service counter. Allen is a musician and combines his work experience, his avocation, and Abell's dedication to premium repairs to create a world class speaker repair center.
